Human Rights Day- 10th Dec

Human Rights Day is celebrated annually worldwide on the 10th of Dec.  It memorizes the anniversary of one of the world’s most revolutionary global pledges: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which was adopted in the year 1948  by the United Nations General Assembly. 

 Human Rights Day is a day for governments, assemblies, and entities to put hand in hand to build up respect for human rights and honor for everyone, everywhere. This day reminds us of the priority of encouraging human rights and the need to protect the dignity and freedoms of individuals worldwide. 

 Various bodies, including the United Nations, plan events, campaigns, and conferences to bring the eye to human rights issues and praise achievements in human rights protection. Annually, Human Rights Day is celebrated with a specific theme scripted by the United Nations. The themes focus on sensitive human rights issues such as freedom of expression, gender equality, justice, or the protection of refugees and migrants

Theme 2024: Our rights, Our future, Right now.

Human rights give power to an individual or group to live a better tomorrow. By understanding and having faith in the power of Human Rights, we can lead a life with peace, equality, and stability. 

This year the theme focuses on the urgent need to recall and protect our Human Rights for a better future. It also highlights that we have full authority to enjoy our rights fully and will also be a protection for the future generation to come.
